The greater Alhambra complex has four different parts: the Generalife gardens, the Palace of Carlos V, the fortress of Alcazaba, and the Palacios Nazaríes (which is the main attraction). We started in the Generalife gardens. The views were great, but it’s still a bit early so not much was in bloom. (It was also plagued by swarms of large tour groups, which was expected but unfortunate.) #travel #Spain #Granada

After the cathedral, we began the long walk up, up, up the hill to the Alhambra complex. We stopped halfway up for drinks and a lunch of hummus for Heather, and boquerones fritos (fried anchovies) for me. (I’m a sucker for anchovies!) After lunch, we finished our trudge up the hill. The views were beautiful, but it was a bit of a death march. #travel #Spain #Granada

The Royal Chapel is part of the larger Granada Cathedral, so after our visit to the chapel, we entered the larger cathedral proper, which is the second largest church in Spain (beaten only by the cathedral in Sevilla). #travel #Spain #Granada

Yesterday was our only full day in Granada, and we made the most of it. Our first stop was the Royal Chapel, where King Ferdinand and Queen Isabel are buried. You’re not supposed to take photos, but I’m sneaky. 🤫

Had dinner tonight at Restaurante Las Tomasas in Granada. It had an *amazing* view of Alhambra. I was sort of afraid it would be “all show no go”, but the food was really good too. Heather and I had a fantastic evening. #travel #Spain

We arrived in Granada this afternoon and took a leisurely walk around Albayzín, Granada’s old Moorish quarter. Now relaxing in our hotel room before dinner. #Spain #travel

Now the event is over, and everyone is heading their separate ways. It was fantastic catching up with so many old friends, and finally meeting a few long-time online friends “in real life.” Heather and I are off to explore Granada for the next few nights. Safe travels everyone! #ReleaseNotes2026

A few more photos from the past few days: ice cream, churros, castles, and after dinner drinks. #ReleaseNotes2026
