I just paid a contractor to fix in two hours a problem that would have taken me days to fix. Feeling pretty good about trading money for time in this particular case. ?

PSA: Brute force attacks on WordPress were regularly spinning up enough instances of PHP-FPM to bring my server to its knees. Protecting wp-login.php, wp-admin and xmlrpc.php (via .htaccess) has virtually eliminated this problem. It’s now part of my process for all new WP sites.
Looking at yesterday’s iPhone 12 announcement, I would have been more excited about the return of TouchID than I am about them adding 5G radios. The iPhone 12 mini looks nice, though.
To their credit, the support people were very easy to work with. I explained the situation and they removed the listing immediately with no hassle whatsoever.
