And now we’re off to the airport! Next stop Dublin airport for a direct flight back to Indianapolis. #travel #Ireland
This was probably not the best planning, but we lingered over our tea so long that we ended up walking directly from afternoon tea to our scheduled dinner with my friends Dermot and Aileen Daly, who live here in Dublin. Meeting up with them was the perfect way to wrap up the trip. We had a nice meal full of laughter at The Winding Stair, which overlooks the Liffey. It was great. #travel #Ireland
After visiting EPIC, we decided to have a proper afternoon tea at the College Green Hotel. It was nice to slow down and enjoy a little time to chat and think back on our favorite parts of the trip. (All the little cakes and sandwiches were nice too!) #travel #Ireland
Yesterday, after visiting the Book of Kells, we toured EPIC: The Irish Emigration Museum, which tells the story of the Irish diaspora that emigrated over the years, sometimes by choice, sometimes driven by need, and sometimes by force. #travel #Ireland
This morning, we left Stonyford and drove to Dublin. After checking into our hotel, we visited The Little Museum of Dublin (which is a total tourist trap, but still entertaining), and then took the hop-on hop-off bus to take in the city and see the sights. #travel #Ireland
That evening, my aunt Kay, aunt Colette, cousin Pat, and I made a sunset visit to Kells Priory, which is the ruins of an Augustine abbey that dates to the year 1193. #travel #Ireland
Yesterday, we made a whirlwind tour of County Kilkenny, visiting Jerpoint Abbey and Clara Castle, then headed into Kilkenny city visiting Kilkenny Castle and the Black Abbey before doing a little shopping. #travel #Ireland
