Currently receiving a lecture on “the potato pyramid” from our Irish guests, which seems like the Irish version of Maslow’s hierarchy of needs. #ReleaseNotes2023
Next stop: Baltazar Castanheiro for the Lisbon specialty “Pastel de Nata”, a delicious cream tart in a pastry shell. #ReleaseNotes2023 #food

Next stop: Cantinho do Aziz, serving Mozambique and Indian fusion cuisine, representing the colonial heritage of Portugal. Served was beef samosas and shrimp curry. No photos of the food. It disappeared to fast! ?#ReleaseNotes2023 #food

This stop is my favorite so far. Bacalhoaria Silva has specialized in dried cod, ham, cheese and wine since 1890. The ham we had (the Portuguese version of Iberico ham) melts in your mouth, and the wine was fantastic—and only €7.50 per 750ml retail! #Releasenotes2023 #wine

Second food tour stop: Bacalhau (croquettes of salted cod) with “tomato rice” and vinho verde. #ReleaseNotes2023 #wine #lisbon

The first official event of #ReleaseNotes2023 is a food tour around Lisbon. First stop was for bifana (pork sandwiches) at Beira Gare, near Rossio train station.
