We took the cogwheel train up Pilatus, so we took the cable car and gondola down the other side of the mountain to Kriens, before catching a bus back to Luzern. (Kriens, Lucerne, Switzerland)
Although we stayed on the paved paths, there are hiking trails that you can walk from the base of Pilatus, right to the peak. In fact, as we were walking around, a family of four reached the top, and I captured this pic of father and son walking to a vista. (Renggeli, Nidwalden, Switzerland)
On Pilatus we were above the clouds, so it sort of felt like we were at the top of the world, even though we were only at 7000 feet. (Renggeli, Nidwalden, Switzerland)
Took Pilatusbahn, the steepest cogwheel railway in the world (48% grade!), to the top of Pilatus. The views on the way were fantastic. (Alpnachstad, Obwalden, Switzerland)
Toured Luzern’s old town this morning and admired all the murals on their buildings. (Altstadt – Wey, Lucerne, Switzerland)
