It seems like even the tiniest village church in Italy has incredible art inside. This is the Church of Saints Peter and Andrea in Trequandra, Tuscany (pop. 1380), built in 1397. Inside are beautiful frescos of the Ascension, and the Madonna with Child. (Trequanda, Tuscany, Italy)

The nave of St. John Lateran is huge, but it’s just a fraction the size of St. Peter’s Basilica. The scale of the churches in Rome is mind boggling. (Epispocal see of Rome, Latium, Italy)
